![]() I've been looking at the Samsung T7 external SSDs that are USB-C 3.2 compliant and was wondering if this would be enough to get somewhat decent performance running Unreal / Unity say? Because of this, I'm looking for a drive with a LOT of bandwidth.Īs a CS postgrad student, I'll be mainly doing relatively basic tasks such as compliling Python scripts / some light ML stuff in PyTorch and Keras - but I dabble in Unity 3D / Unreal Engine on occasion and wondered if the bandwidth over USB-C would be capable of running these apps externally? I intend to run some of my *larger* applications from it, or have some of the larger application files stored there to access. I'm thinking of purchasing one of the new M1 Macbooks and I'm also looking to invest in a portable SSD. ![]()
